Our Projects
Projet d'Accompagnement des Femmes Agricultrices (PAFA)
Objective: Empower women farmers in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through sustainable agricultural practices and economic support.
Description: PAFA aims to enhance the agricultural skills of women farmers, providing them with the necessary resources, training, and support to improve their crop yields and economic independence. This project focuses on sustainable farming techniques, financial literacy, and market access, helping women to become self-sufficient and improve their livelihoods.
HimPower & EmpowerHer (HPE & EPH)
Objective: Promote gender equality by empowering both men and women to challenge traditional gender roles and support each other’s development.
Description: HPE & EPH consists of two complementary programs. HimPower focuses on educating men and boys about gender equality and encouraging them to support women’s empowerment. EmpowerHer provides women and girls with leadership training, mentorship, and resources to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. Together, these programs work to foster mutual respect and collaboration between genders.
Play4Peace and Mental Health Support (P4PM)
Objective: Use sports as a tool for promoting mental health, resilience, gender equality, and social cohesion among displaced and refugee children and youth.
Description: P4PM leverages the power of sport to address the challenges faced by displaced children and youth in South Kivu province and beyond. By incorporating trauma-informed sports activities, this program provides mental health support, fosters resilience, and promotes gender equality. The mixed-gender sports programs ensure that all participants, especially girls, can safely engage and thrive, building a sense of joy, community and solidarity.
Youth and Children Educational Support
Objective: Enhance educational opportunities and support for children and youth, particularly those deprived of education by displacement and conflict.
Description: This project provides educational resources, tutoring, and mentorship to children and youth in displaced persons and refugee camps and other underserved areas. Breaking barriers to education, such as lack of supplies and support, the program helps young people to achieve academic success and personal growth, setting a strong foundation for their future.
Trauma Therapy
Objective: Offer trauma-informed psychological support to individuals affected by conflict, violence, and displacement.
Description: Trauma therapy provides counseling and psychological services to help individuals cope with the trauma of war, ethnic conflicts, and natural disasters. Through individual and group therapy sessions, the program aims to improve mental health and well-being, allowing participants to heal and regain a sense of normality and purpose in their lives.
Sexual Reproductive Health
Objective: Improve sexual and reproductive health education and services for women and adolescents.
Description: This program focuses on providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health education, access to healthcare services, and support for women and adolescents. By addressing issues such as family planning, maternal health, and prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), the program empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their health and well-being, promoting healthier communities.
