Healing Hearts, Building Futures

At CSC-Asbl, our mission revolves around Healing Hearts and Building Futures. We work primarily with women and children who have been affected by conflict, discrimination, and natural disasters in the DR Congo. CSC-Asbl provides a safe space for individuals to share their experiences and to learn new skills. Our holistic approach fosters resilience and autonomy. Every heart that is healed means a brighter future is possible for the individual, the family, and everyone in the community.

Areas of works

1. Healing Trauma and Promoting Peace through Sports

At CSC-Asbl, we harness the transformative power of sports to heal trauma and foster peace in conflict-affected communities. Through our innovative Play for Peace and Mental Support (P4PM) program, we utilize local games like soccer, table tennis, and jump rope to promote social-emotional health and inclusion among traumatized youths. By engaging in sports activities, participants not only develop essential life skills but also build bonds of friendship and understanding, laying the foundation for lasting peace.

2. Mitigating Global Warming through Environmental Management

Our commitment to environmental sustainability drives our efforts to mitigate the effects of global warming. Through a range of agricultural projects such as our Wash Project, tree planting initiatives, and the PAFA program, we empower women to become environmental stewards in their communities. By adopting eco-friendly practices and promoting sustainable land management, we contribute to the resilience of local ecosystems and combat climate change for future generations.

3. Child Safeguarding Policy

Ensuring the safety and well-being of children is paramount to our work at CSC-Asbl. We proactively assess and mitigate the risks faced by children on a daily basis, and we assist local organizations in establishing robust safeguarding policies. By promoting a culture of child protection and providing necessary support, we create safe environments where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

4. Supporting Youth through Education

At CSC-Asbl, we recognize the importance of education in empowering youth and breaking the cycle of poverty. We address the social isolation experienced by children displaced by conflict and natural disasters by providing access to quality educational opportunities. 5. Trauma Therapy

Our trauma therapy program offers a supportive and compassionate space for women and children who have experienced trauma. Through both group and individual therapy sessions, we provide essential mental health support, helping survivors heal and rebuild their lives. Our approach emphasizes trust-building and empowerment, empowering individuals to overcome their past traumas and embrace a brighter future.

6. Empowerment through Skills Education

At CSC-Asbl, we empower women by providing comprehensive skills education in leadership, entrepreneurship, crafts, and various professional opportunities. Through our programs, women gain the knowledge and tools they need to thrive in their communities and pursue sustainable livelihoods. 7. Sexual and Reproductive Health

In our commitment to Sexual and Reproductive Health, we support women amidst societal challenges of gender violence. Through awareness campaigns and advocacy, we champion family planning and bodily autonomy. Empowering women with education and resources, we ensure informed choices and access to essential services, promoting control over their bodies and futures. Together, we dismantle barriers, combat stigma, and foster a culture of respect and empowerment for women in eastern DR Congo.
